I had my CG125 stolen a couple of years ago by kids who rode it about, crashed it then set fire to it. Stupid Richard.

Luckily I was insured to buggery for theft so I got more money than it was worth, no excess and I'd just passed my full test so was goign to sell it anyway so it worked out quite nicely for me :).

Really wombles sucks doesn't it :(.

on the subject of NCB you only lose 2 years for any 1 claim so would go back down to 3 years, I would do 2 quotes one for 3 and one for 5 and see if the difference is more than the 650 you would get for claiming etc.

Any word on the condition of both bikes yet? Probably not what you really want to do but get the road one back and strip that one too, hopefully it will just be the tank that would have been torched, and only after the little sh1ts have run out of juice.
Have you found a new one yet? Keep positive and things will be okay in the end.
Don't hassle me

If he has the option of that one he posted the other day, the later model red one, I would think he will be content to let the nicked one rust in peace.

Police came to work today with pictures of the bikes so I could positively identify them and give a statement. Race bike looks absolutly fine. It is quite upsetting to see the picture of my road bike though, absolutly burnt and is barely recognisable  . I'll post up the photo when I get it through.

However. I do have good news. Reading through my insurance policy again, I paid £30 for excess protection insurance! which if I am right in thinking, will pay my excess. Therefore I should get the full £1200, which will go a fair way to buying this new storm :D So I have not come out too badly after all.

Brilliant mate! Some decent news at last! So you was insured in the end then? I remember you saying you wasn't sure as you've just moved house and not changed the address on the policy?

I was thinking the same thing with that burnt out picture.

Good news on the Insurance front mate. £30 well spent that. It makes me wonder what is the point of an excess then :confused I thought the whole object of excess is so your insurance is cheaper.

Spoke to the recovery company today. Pissed off would be an understatement. They want £150 for the initial recovery of the bike and £50 for delivery of the bike back( Have to pay this as they are only open 9-4.30 and not open at weekend). On top of this they want £10 a day for holding the bike.

I didn't even ask this company to have my bike. If the police had rung me I would have come and picked it up! Sounds ridiculous to me, does anybody know where I stand on this?

My guess is they can do this, and it is much worse if you are in hospital and the daily charge is building up!

another example of how the system is being used to screw the victim
