I want to replace the std cans with 'nicer' road legal ones and having trawled through previous postings I am none the wiser apart from possibly ART. Some advice (and pictures) would be welcome please. Currently favouring Scorpion, quoted £450 for high level stainless, inc fitting and re-routing/changing the rear footrests, didnt mention the rear indicators though which I assume will need replacing with something smaller.

Any help more than appreciated for a new stormer.

Rode to the Ace yesterday as V twin day and only one other storm there, very disappointing

I have had the same dilema for the past few weeks. Drives you nuts :?

In the end I went for low level Carbon Can Company, road legal oval stainless, brand new for £220. If you check on ebay, there are some available at the moment. CCC are now selling on ebay direct for nearly half the price they have them in their shop.

I just bought some lo-level stainless, oval, road-legal for £338 - hi-levels are £358!

I had planned on getting hi-levels, but didn't bother in the end as I didn't want the hassle of assing around with indicators (possibly wouldn't need to though), or having to change how I 'perched' on the footpegs as hi-levels tend to melt yer boots!

With the spuds in, def sound nicer at idle (revving em up), but once you get moving, if you wear earplugs like me, you won't here much difference to the standard cans :(

I'm told they do sound nice though, and without the spuds, well, they will be LOUD I'm sure! :wink:

i've got stainless oval scorpions on mine and i personally love the sound (with baffles removed). With them in they improve sound over standard cans but best leave em out for full on v twin noise!
got mine at nec for £220.

I've got road legal Remus' on mine which are lovely. Nice sound (every MOT the guy says he can't pass it with race pipes on and every year I take him outside to show him the genuine E-mark) Also they fit a bit lower down than most so you can keep the standard indicators if you really want to (why!!) but coz they are that bit forward I ocasionally touch the heel guard of my boot on the edge when I have my toes on the pegs (size 10's BTW) And you've gotta go high level for the ground clearance!! :twisted:

Art ones sit a bit further back and up so you do need to do something with the blinkycators but they are out of the way of your feet. Also you can now get them with removable inserts so you don't have so much hassle at MOT time.

Thanks for all the input folks, not sure I am any the wiser but it has at least narrowed it down, decisions, decisions. Best I make my mind up soon though before the approval to spend is retracted or diverted to something else, shoes, bags etc!!!!!

I've had Hi-level Scorpions on for 7000 miles and they sound good but with the baffles out they are a bit much over longer distances, though they sound really good on the over-run. You'll need mini indicators if you go for these as the standard ones rest on the cans. Finally getting a Dynojet/K&N fitted next week (been sat in the gararge for 6 months) so hopefully will notice the difference. :lol:
