I did the brake fluid within 12 months but yes it's deffo darker than normal, I'm going to change it after the winter ready for next year :-)

Good man. Might as well change the clutch fluid as well while you're doing it.

i change mine every winter . front brake /rear brake / clutch .
i also service the callipers and slave cylinder at the same time

170 and the red light will come on. Be careful not spill any petrol on the nice fresh lacquer. Even though it should be petrol resistant, it's still fresh and the longer you wait the better and watch out for bird sh1t.

The tank looks very good, paint job blends it in perfectly - nice job!

On the subject of filling up at the petrol station - what's the secrete? I get a back-splash whatever I do - pump slow, pump fast, slide my nozzle in deep, slide my nozzle in shallow - back splash!

Can't say I've ever had a problem filling up. Are you directing it at the metal bar that runs across the inside of the tank. I think it's the overflow and that is the limit to where to fill up to. I generally slow the flow down the closer it gets to full.

Sitting on the bike with it upright (not on stand), Pump nozzle in right hand pointing straight down with the kink in the nozzle aimed into the LH side of the tank.

I bought the tank already made up and just had to have it resprayed my colour.

But from what the body shop guy who sprayed it for me says when he was rubbing the old paint off he came across 'fireblade' stickers under the old paint.

So it must be the fireblade tank sat on a vtr base!

The shape still looks like a storm tank, don't think there was a blade tank that looked like that.

Just looking at the pictures its hard to tell, but I would say he has Taken a Storm tank, split it at the bottom seam, then added a 2" strip of flat steel to raise the old upper section of the tank and then blended it all back together.
But god knows why it had fireblade stickers under the paint?!

I just been looking at early fireblade tank pics and if I'm being honest there's not a massive difference....

The bottom of the tank is hollow mate as opposed to a flat piece of steel.
Here's a pic of it before I got it painted.


It's a strange one, just wish the guy I bought it from could have given me more info!

Trust me it ain't a blade tank as they are huge
The po Probably couldn't get a firestorm decal .
The blade tank is very wide as its for a il4 .
Yours is a modded standard tank like amcq46 says
