Bars Swapped!

Post by Storm Chaser »

:D Finally decided to stop short of the Risers solution and fitted LSL "Top Match" bars. No need to lengthen any hoses or cables and no fairing cutting. Result is excellent with just the right weight transfer (for an old bloke) without being too upright. You may find like me that you have to reposition the switchgear to stop it fouling the fairing. You need to fit new lock stops too but these are provided. Helps if you speak German too, as instructions in German only. Mind you, fitting is straight forward so no probs. I reckon the bars are about 3 cms higher and about the same stretch. Oh yeah, although the pre load adjusters are accessible, its a bugger to get anything on them to adjust them, but the forks are so crap it makes no difference anyway.

If anyone wants more info on this conversion before shelling out "Far Too Much Money" for them, just drop me a line. I should have done it ages ago. Thanks to those fellow stormers who replied to my other post "Handlebars Again" with loads of help and advise. :D Even if I did go and do something else in the end!

Bars Swapped!

Posting a photo on the web?! That's a bit technical for me, but i'll see what I can do. Yep, Demon Tweeks do the bars. They are at about a 5 degree angle and are adjustable around the fork leg as they do not have the locator peg that the standard bars have. I found that although I did not have to cut the fairing as you would with risers, I had to enlarge the mirror holes to push the fairing up by a few mil so that the switchgear does not foul on full lock.

Good luck.
