New 19ah battery fitted
I've fitted the new bigger 19ah battery (PIC BELOW) because it went lazy a lot last winter when stood outside all night in freezing weather and this year I've got a lot of extra elec stuff running from it. To fit new one I had to remove the plastic battery lid which just slotted out easily and had to reroute the terminal leads to reach the taller battery. It's 19ah which is a much better ampage and claims to have stronger acid that lasts longer and doesn't drain in cold weather. Also the plates are wrapped in glass fibre matting to guard against the cold. Another useful feature is it has 4 terminals so I can run the bike off 2 and all auxilliary stuff off the other 2. So far I've noticed that the bike starts much quicker and sharper. In fact it now starts so fast that you don't get a chance to hear the starter motor turn. Hoping this will keep it starting easily on early frozen mornings. Running extra stuff like heated jacket etc as well so hopefully have a battery now to cope with that. 65 quid off Ebay and pleased with it so far.

Looks like you need to buy a soldering iron lol
And the battery matches the colour of the bike :-)

I was just thinking that .Get rid of those scotchlocks and splice and solder. You will have a much more reliable connection and tidier.Looks like you need to buy a soldering iron lol
Top battery I will be replacing mine when it due for renewal with one of those.

Yeah, know what you mean about soldering but I wanted to check all worked fine before doing that.
Can't fault the battery. Fits ok and its tallness actually makes it more easily accessible. Because I've had to remove the plastic battery cover I've put a piece of rubber mat over it.
Power delivery is really really good and a very noticable difference to starting. Fires up so fast now it's incredible. I can run tons of auxilliary stuff off it with hardly any drop in voltage. The extra 2 terminals are very handy and keep the main terminals solo. Will have to wait until the icy weather to test the promises of stronger acid and gel matting.
A hell of an improvement to my storm for just 60 quid.
Big thanks to tony.mon for steering me towards it. Well impressed.
