Are twins slower?

Post by Image »

Bearing in mind that twins in BSB are allowed to be 1200cc and inline 4's have to be no more than 1000cc, are twins slower than 4's?

V twins run out of steam up the top end but are brilliant for powering out of bends, and inline 4's are good top end, but not so quick at the bottom end.

This I think is what makes V twins more petrol thirsty as they use the power bottom and mid range, and a lot of street bikes are tuned for this like Hornets etc, which I why I found them more fun than a CBR600.

They are justing trying to even the field.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Just wondering why BSB allow 1200cc for twins but only 1000cc for inline 4's. Seems a handicap for the 4's.

It was to balance out Ducati 1000cc twins dominating against 4 cylinder 750s in the days of Fogarty (anyway Honda came up with with the VTR1000 ;-)

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

More Cylinders = More valves = higher RPM's = More Power

1ltr V twin wont stand a chance against a 1ltr in line 4, in race spec

when they did race 1000cc V Twins it was against 750cc inline 4's
