Really? I might be setting myself up for a shooting here but the Bonny old or new is a pile of shite, to be honest in my own opinion KawasakiStormingHonda wrote:If I was going to be a modern classic it wouldnt be a Japanesse bike, I would go for a Triumph bonny.
I would have to agree with you on the old ones. the Jap bikes were " better " quality, thats why they buried the British industry, not sure about the new ones, I just dont see Japanesse bikes as classic to be honest with you, after all they were copying the British bikes, but making them better, not because we couldnt but the British bike industry became lazy and didnt invest into their bikes.Phimosis wrote:Really? made a better version of it in their w650, I have ridden both and owned a w650 and the Kawa had grunt felt tight and was a pleasure to ride although slow it was better in every way. each to their own I suppose......Now I think the Honda is an absolute belter bout time the big 4 Jap makers diverted from the race reps which very few people I know can actually ride them properly and bikes like this no doubt would help lower the death rate which is appalling and a large % are from race rep bikes ridden by inexperienced riders or people who will never be good enough to ride a 190hp motorcycle, how many of us have sat behind a race rep on our dinky v twins and stuck on the back of Butch Billy in his Dainese Kangaroo suit and BSB rep tyres, he dont go any faster does he? This is the sort of bike I welcome and I doff my cap to the Honda. it is a bit lacking in the looks dept but the idea is great.
What is a Doff

Getting a bigger bike wouldn't necessarily mean lower mpg. When riding with my friends on a blackbird and a busa, they seem to get better mpg than me. Despite them having 60+ more bhp. When touring with my mate on his blackbird he ended up spending a fair bit less than me on petrol over the 3k.pinkyfloyd wrote:If I had to change the Storm, and in this current climate I have for the first time since getting it, been debating the very subject it certainly would not be to get a bigger bike.
At close to £1.50 a liter for petrol its getting silly just keeping the bike going on my work run.
I used to spend hours on ebay looking at other big bikes but now the biggest I perv over is 600cc. Even that waste of a 750 the Honda brought out is looking appealing with its (upto) 80mpg.
