I've just been looking at the Kreiga rucksacks. They are the dogs bollox them. I think I shall have to put one on the Christmas list. :)

The backpack arrived today, real smart design and lightweight too. Might not be as hard wearing as the kriga stuff but for £18 delivered it will be great for all types of events. Thanks for the recommendation

Glad you like it, it sits very nice at high speeds, don't know why I didn't get one sooner.

Thanks for the advice on getting the exhaust studs out, just need a welder now. Xenocide suggested using a stud extractor and I've also been told to cut a slot for a screw driver. So might look down that road too. Going to give it a few showers of WD40 first I think.

Cheers
Got room for one more if you still wanna go to Aspen

Sorry, screwdriver slots won't work, and WD40 isn't going to help either as once the stud based has corroded into the ali the WD can't penetrate.
One other option is to file flats on both sides of the protruding part of the stud and try a good quality mole grip type tool that has flat jaws.

Start the bike and run it up to normal temp first; the heat difference in expansion between steel (stud) and ali alloy (head) will help.
Never mind the neighbours.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Nice one thanks, I'm getting a bit desperate running low on ideas. Will the bike run ok without the exhausts on?

It will run a bit rough, but it will run, and be very loud. When my front studs broke, I rode down to the local welders with the front hanging off. Got some stares from the noise it made going down the road.
