chain tension

whats a good rule of thumb when doing chain tension guys mine seems awfully slack? cheers in advance

Pg 37 from the PDF Service Manual - Service Info , Maintenance
Drive chain slack: 30-40 mm (1.2-1.6 in)
and Pg. 49 - Drive Chain - Inspection, Chain Slack Inspection
Check the slack in the drive chain lower run midway between the sprockets.
Rotate it round and adjust the chain slack to spec at the tightest point.

well mine was approx 50mm no wonder she felt noisy and a little rattley
