info/question about fitting a 19ltr tank

Post by agentpineapple »

just thought i'd post some pictures of the underside of a 19ltr fuel tank, i'm trying to figure out how this petcock thingy fits onto the tank...
Image
i have bought this fuel spigot thingy for david silvers
Image
and you can see where it fits very easily, in this picture i have it attached to a braided fuel line with a quick release valve and a t-piece to split to both carbs
Image
so the only other place the diaphram thingy can go is where the fuel level sensor sits
here in the middle of the tank
Image
if anyones got a good clear picture of the underside of a 19ltr fuel tank i would be very happy to see it.
when i finally get around to fitting the tank, hopefully this side of xmas....
i'll post in the workshop section a how to it a 19ltr tank thread...

heres a few more pics, sorry for the poor quality of the photos, my digital camera has packed up and i'm using a 10yr old nokia phone.

There is no valve on the 19L tank. If you want to fit one you will need to fit an in-line valve.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Marty, as long as it isn't chucking it down tomorrow I will take some pics for you. We can lift the tank when you pop the cash up as well if you want.

nice one buddy, i didn't know this thread was on the forum
where i'm looking at fitting a 19ltr tank onto an older early storm, there will be no need for that diaphram thingy majig
i have it on good authority that you don't need it, and because i have the quick release valve i won't have the same problem as you have with your improvised tool
