Would you use this?

Post by seb421 »

Test fitted it today, bought it months ago but never got round to fitted my gauges

my concern was this, you can see the adapter thread ID is smaller than the Storms opening, wondering if it will reduce flow to much?

Being a circle the 'area' will have been reduced a lot. No idea if this will affect anything, depends on the flow and I have no idea what that is

Is it a differential pressure switch for measuring the pressure across the filter so you can monitor how clogged up it is?

you can fit upto 3 probes, currently i only have a probe for temp for it but yes you can fit a pressure flow one

Not fitted it this time as i was concerned with the ID size of the adapter

Thinking about it you would need 2 pressure switches for differential, one would just give a pressure reading which would be useful though.

I would be concerned too, not really a good place to introduce a restriction.

Now i know the internal ID is smaller i may just bore it out to the size of the honda outlet, plenty of meat on it, ill have it done for next oil change i think

I can't see why they didn't make the hole the same diameter all the way through.

It looks like Aluminium? If it is then maybe they were worried about strength.

That's not a bad idea, or get one machined up. Seems strange why the bore is not the same. I wonder if it's a universal part. :confused

It don't look too bad though. Get some heatshrink on the wires and run them nicely away from high temperatures.

And polish off the red anodising, unless you're going for a 90's retro look.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
