Manual CCT question

Post by Image »

I can imagine the manual CCT's are tricky to set upo but once set up do they need to be adjusted again? If so how often?

Once set they should last many thousands of miles without needing adjustment as the camchains don't stretch much. I found it a bit tricky to set the front but the rear was easier as you can see what tension the chain is under easily.

I might go for that instead of the stop mod and simply ask my local bike shop to test it each time I go there for a tyre change. What signs does it give that it nees altering? Does it chatter?

Does it chatter?
It's like a bloody old woman and I keep having arguments with it. It told me to slow down the other day. I said "what's it got to do with you what speed I'm doing" it said to me "I'm just trying to stop you getting more points on tour license" so I told it that is OK then and then. Then it shut up.

If you going for manuals be prepared to remove the front cam cover to get the adjustment spot on with the front cct. Or you can make an estimated guess. With the stop mod you wont have to do this.
