Daftest sales patter

Post by lanny »

Been sniffing round an SP-2 today, young sales guy trying to shove a right pile my way but fair play for trying, got to know he only worked as bike sales rep on Saturdays  He was the valeter the rest of the time and was in charge if their was nobody in the shop which was usually 12:00 > 13:00 most days ! Any way, the sp-2 had seen more than 1 track day if you know what i mean :redface So i left well alone. On the way home i got to thinking of experiences with bike shops over the years and i think the worst sales patter i ever had was when i tried to px a 10 plate Busa which was only months old against a new blade. Cheeky sales guy says " Hmm ! this is a hard one as the Busa is to new to be old and to old to be new" and offered me £6k :wtf: Now having in mind i paid 9k 3 months earlier from this dealer i will leave it to your imagination but i only spoke two words . 8O
Finished up buying a CB1000r to get a decent deal but didnt get on with that either so here i am with the storm which is great but im seriously after an SP-2 before im to old - big 5 0 in three months so times running out !

track days is nothing to the sp mate.
you wont kill one one the track - its what they were made for.
more likely youll find a ratter thats been stored outdoors and ridden through winter without proper prep.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Ive had an SP1 Benny - and loved it but jeeezz was it uncomfy, its only through your post last week about where youve been on yours that ive decided to try again. The SP2 i looked at was proper Fooked and a liitle too suspicious for my liking. I dont know why i went looking other than through being bored as im after something a little newer, I like the Black, Black framed models.

there are a few nice late model specimens on mcn bikemart atm
and a few on egay.
a dealer will still 1000+ on the price so stay away imo.
