I'll continue to be patient then and wait for the solenoid to turn up before doing anything else.

uh i dunno. you can get niggles with any new bike.
what he's bought is a mint example of a well loved bike, owner has spent more time pimping it and cleaning it than riding it.
obviously wasnt any good with elec problems and has got shut.
just a matter of putting right the common defects on the bike then its sorted.
same as getting a storm and having the usual cct, r/r, starter post issues...

difference is, apart from a bit more power, this has already got the brakes and suspension sorted, decent lights etc!!!

lol. Yeah, At least I would only have to change the r/r, ccts, upgrade springs, rear shock, raise the rear end, and erm.... :P

Benny, I was hoping this had already been done but I guess not. I'm not the most mechanical of people but I guess I just need to grow some and delve in. If I fook it up, i'll put you up for the weekend.  You could do with some time down south to appreciate just how fooking cold it is oop north.

Iam also a bit jealous. You have a working bike. Tony is right. Nothing more annoying than having a bike you can't ride

Started stripping down the bike but need
a) more room in the garage and
b) a paddock or abba stand.
c) a printed out manual.

I was a bit surprised to see a load of salt like residue on the engine under the tank. Needs a good clean and tidy up.

Cant believe how many wires and connectors there are under the tank too :?

...to be continued.

Chin up, It will all be good in the end. It's like any bike it will have teething problems. You could buy a brand new bike out the factory and t will have niggles.

But what fun your gonna have once she's up and running. Get yourself a pdf workshop manual or something, Important with any bike when doing your own maintenance. You must be able to get one of one of the forums.

I have them all :) I just prefer them printed out. I am going to see if I can sweet talk work into producing copies for me.

The way this is going you aren't going to give me a run for my money on the next rideout.... I'll have to find someone else to race.

Alistair, you fancy buying an SP1?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

@Tony. I always get a lung full of fuel following you. If only I could work out a way of harnessing it. Especially now I am back to 100 miles per (18l) tank
