With regards to that race did you actually watch it?

Yes it was a he'll of a special one but if any one had had passed like Rossi did they would have been ripped to bits by race direction
his pass was actually an illegal one as he was off the track cutting the corner to make the move, other people have been penalised in the past for doing that but as it was the big name Rossi it gets swept under the carpet.
Had I been stoner I too would have complained you can't have rules for one and different rules for another,

Stoner I'm sure would agree it was a monumental epic battle but the pass at the corkscrew should not have been allowed

he should stop talking smack now though imho as his rival has left the sport (for now)

Quotes taken out of context i reckon, journalists will always ask questions then take what ever part of the answer they want. there's no racing or testing at the moment so why not create a bit of hype and controversy.

Nothing was ever wrong with that Lugana pass, just two racers trying very hard, and one sore loser.

If he plays "forty five hundred times" once again I'll stop buying his records, I really will.

The comments go with the character. Rossi needs his targets to focus on and the public love him as a figure head for the sport. You get it all thrown in with VR, you can moan and groan about the bits you don't like but he won't change.
My view is that Casey went to Ducati in the first year of the 800's, when they had the Japanese manufacturers over with the tuning of the Duke over their bikes. It was a beautiful thing to behold and he succeeded in gaining the World championship. From that year on the Duke didn't have the advantage and each successive year has been a struggle, with only Stoner being able to get anything like a result out of it.
Rossi has been a constant over the years with the last couple at Ducati being a low point for him. He has always needed his enemies Biaggi, Gibernau, Stoner it's just the nature of the beast.
Don't take any of it seriouly, the news reports, the comments, the teenage angst, it's all to sell the sport.
For me VR am da man, but other opinions are available (even if they are wrong!!! ).

Lanny this 'expert' didn't say much about the pass off track at the corkscrew though did he....

If you watch that Stoner documentary i posted a link to a while ago they have some Yamaha lads on it iirc they speak about how they couldn't believe he got away with it and that it was a bit 'naughty' that

I'm not bashing on Rossi i grew up watching him and i'm a massive Fan i loved seeing him get the title back again in 08 from Casey too but i don't think he can talk sh1t on stoner for that race given the pass,
had stoner done that on him or some one done a move like that on Lorenzo etc race direction would have cried blue murder and given them a penalty, Rossi has always been one for a fair but hard battle he's a great racer but ribbing Casey for that was a bit much imo

Agree with some of what you say but in my opinion as rossi was in the lead before going off track no advantage was gained.
To me this fairing bashing snarling between riders is tops as long as no one gets seriously injured or worse, it makes up for all the crap races that have become prossessions where one rider shoots off in front and the rest just follow him round.

What rossi has said is in context with the remark stoner came out with when he said rossi tried moves that out weighed his talent and what others said about Simmo 58. All in all they are all guilty of spin . long live close racing and controversy

My take on the 'your ambition out weights your talent comment'
