Know anything interesting about Triumph?
Got an interview at Triumph Motorcycles tomorrow morning, just curious if anyone knows some lesser known/interesting facts about the company. I've been doing a stalker-level amount of research into them but everything I find seems to be common knowledge

Re: Know anything interesting about Triumph?
Well yeah, I guessed that much but I don't think it's best to bring that up in an interview at the factory :L
Thanks though, I'm going in for a Parts Quality apprentice.. it's nothing amazing but it's working with bikes, getting paid and getting qualifications.. I don't see what's not to like
I've also applied for two other jobs there, Junior CAD Design and Junior Engineer, but they aren't even getting into the pre-interview stages until next year :/

Re: Know anything interesting about Triumph?
You could say something about the heritage of Edward Turner's 1934 Speed Twin living on in not only the retro range of new Bonnevilles but also that the Trident, which was a 750cc triple made in the 1970s, pioneered the triple cylinder configuration which they still use today.

Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

There is a free Google App with the history of the marque since it was formed to the current day. it's just designated with a large T and it's free but is just a list of facts, no piccies. Might be of use to you.
Good luck with the interview fella.

The new ones dont, would put money on a new honda leaking oil before a new Triumph did.thumperslaw wrote:They leak oil to
Mind you, he could have asked, where the braincells were when they were designing the Daytona, speed triple T509, 955i,TT600 and speed four when it came to dropping or tilting the engine in the frame to check valve clearance, and why they get 9 hours for a full service interval for these model for what I would percieve as a design fault.
Re: Know anything interesting about Triumph?
Hope you get the job.
Always fancied a Trip, but I don't dare ride one in case I then can't live without it.
As soon as I've had a bad day it'll be on the credit card.
Women go to get their nails done, I buy bikes to cheer myself up.
Will you get a Company Bike, or at least, decent factory discount?
They'll be a pile of gold forks and sussies in a dark corner of the stockroom, too....

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Because it's only an apprenticeship I don't think I get either a bike or discount until it's completed and I'm offered a more permanent position, though they apparently give quite generous discounts on bikes and parts to staff members.. Which means I'm getting my dad a Sprint GT to swap for his Sprint ST
