If you are getting worried when doing the mod I am sure one of us will be on line and can pm you a mobile number and talk you through it. Once you have seen it done it is easy

The stopper mod itself is really simple but you will need a key to lock it off so either borrow, make or buy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281026278904? ... 1423.l2649 The most important thing to get your head around is the timing. Have a good read through the instructions on here http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=8326 Don't follow a Haynes manual as it has detrimental errors in it. If you are confused or have any questions just ask so you have everything in you head beforehand and are well prepared. When it comes to it Just take your time and double check things before moving on. If you are unsure of something while in the process of doing it then just ask as we are here to help. If your lucky there may be someone in the Lincoln area that will be willing to lend a hand
but dont play roulette
I like that. Russian roulette

get it done, stopper or manuals !

mine ran perfectly, sounded as sweet as a nut, then failed under no load at all in a car park outside the mot center.

you get absolutely no warning at all

If you do go the stopper route make sure you follow this link to set up the valve timing:-
