brilliant !, another bike from my yoof that i fancied but never got.
do the parts come as a kit or just the random bits you reckon you need?
i liked the little cafe racer kit that used a suzuki savage engine that was on here ( i think ) the other day

iirc they had a common fault (like our cct,s) was it crankshaft bearings ??

I had a GL400 custom, CX500 Custom, CX500A (x2) and a Silverwing. Good old bikes all of them but a bugger if the rev counter cable broke!

Could you get them in blue? Maybe explain the rev counter not registering. My mate had one, black, same time I had a GPz550. No comparison

Oh, Styler looks like a great project - might pop round sometime to see how it's getting on, drink tea, nod unknowledgably and eat bikkies :D

I used to go into Chasbikes to get bit's for the CX's and they loved them. Chas himself reckoned the maggot was good for 100,000 miles before any major overhaul whilst the GT's needed work at 30,000 to keep them going.
Funny configuration that engine. I heard once that it was designed as a marine lump, but that may have been an evil northerner trying to have me over!!

That use to be the favorite bike for tourists coming down under to Oz for long distance travel, was reliable and relatively good gas per Km
There was the occasional water pump seal, but other then that pretty much bullet proof :cool2
