CCT's again....

Post by duzzy »

Hi all,

Sorry another new secondhand VTR owner here. Bikes got 18500 miles on the clock and as far as I can tell from the documentation has never had the CCT's replaced.

I gather from all the posts that this would be a good idea, (although the bike sounds fine at the mo) but have got a little confused.

My question is what is the recommended choice?

Replace with Honda CCT's

Replace with the APE manual cam chain tensioners

Replace with another manufacturers (seen a few in here, Kawa's, Birds)

Replace with something else I have missed

Thanks in advance,

D

(Damn and I bought a Honda so I could just ride the thing...maybe my old bonnie isn't such a pain after all...) :D

Personally, i wouldnt suggest changing them just for the sake of it.........

I've never had a problem.....

If you did want to do it, i would reccomend sending a PM to delmeekc,(see other threads). He was doing a roll in-roll out changing service. He has his own upgraded CCT's. Proven to be much better.

He's well trusted in the world of storms.

Del is yer man. He's doing an engine change for me at the moment and he's a bit under the weather, so maybe pushed to get anything done for a while.

I think the one's he's putting in mine are the final mod.

But definitely PM and get his thoughts.
