Surely the customs will have to catch you first?
Mostly they're built for show, not go, and certainly round corners you'll have the edge, or on any road that isn't flat and smooth.

You don't see many customs about in the winter, either. The long forks don't work well with ice and snow.

Dunno if I've noticed that most of them are any wider than other bikes, though. Still, I suppose the tassles on the apehanger bar ends might give you a nasty whipping if one went by a bit close. Best be careful.
