Anyone anything to report on them?
Current lid has a small scuff on bottom after my recent little off so perfect excuse to treat myself!

I have used them for years but didn't realise just how noisy they are until I bought a different brand. I think the noise issue is the way the visor pods are designed & are causing turbulence. ( I should point out here that I am no designer or physicist, so that is pure speculation.) I do know & can report with first hand knowledge that the visor mechanism make it a pain to change visors, in that you have to be quite brutal to get it off & I found it awkward to get the new one back on.
Also had a pod snap one of the retaining lugs, rendering it useless & spare pods are only available in pairs & quite expensive. blue How ever it was below freezing when it snapped so that probably didn't help.
( A gallant knight on a blue steed came to the rescue, Kev had a spare one he sent me.)
So do I ! Still noisy.mr.john.coates wrote:I've got one, my current lid.
I always use ear plugs, so I can't comment on the noise but I really like it, good ventilation - mine's got pinlock fitted - and extra long visor which gives good visibility.
I'd recommend it. Got mine in plain white as it was a bit cheaper.
Totaly agree with the buffeting anything over 70 (on a private road of course) & I found that the lid was moving about, at much higher speeds (it was a long runway ) it got to the point that my vision was blurred ! The wind jammer cured this.bigspanishmarty wrote:However there are some downsides.
1/ Look a bit gash.
2/ Can be a bit awkward getting your lid on & off. (Nose / ear interface issues. )
3/ If you wear glasses they will steam up, I don't wear glasses but me sunglasses do every time I've tried them.
i use one of these and i have to disagree.
1/ they don't look the best, but once its on you don't see it.True I can't see it but I think it still looks a bit pony*.
2/ they can be awkward to put on and off, but you do get used to it and it can be done easily with practise. I am used to it & it's still awkward despite practice.
3/ i wear glasses and i don't have any added problems with my glasses steaming up, i'm not sure if this is to do with the type of lid you use rather than the wind jammer....Funily enough it's a KBC as well, maybe I've just got a hot or cold head & the temp differential when I put the shades on is causing the misting.I havent really persuded this as the shades in question were a bit uncomfy under a lid any way.
i will say that wind noise and buffeting is greatly reduced with the wind jammer, i use a kbc lid and found that the design allowed for wind to enter the underside and tug/pull the lid at speed, the wind jammer totaly cures this problem for me....
