Bar height
hi is there anything for the Firestorm to raise the bars up a bit? my mate suggested a scaffold tube over the grips and "pull up a bit" the b8stard.
Regards Paul.

Re: Bar height
You could get a pair of VFR bars, which is what I did, I bought a pair off a member on this forum, they make quite a difference, the only trouble is I now get some wind blast at certain speeds which I didn't before as my head would have been lower.

Re: Bar height
I have a set of later storm bars for sale if you are interested. Although the difference is minimal
Re: Bar height
Just go's to show how subjective these mods are. Carl fitted the late bars off of my bike to his and reckons it makes a noticeable difference. I suppose you pays yer money and takes yer pick!

Re: Bar height
Kev,
if you put Steve and Carl side by side you would see a significant difference Carl would be looking at steves rib cage...........I can understand why their views on ergonomics will never be aligned
There are some fully adjustable bars being sold by Alto [i think??] look in other handlebar links. they will give you adjustment in angle rotated round the fork, height above the yoke and also the angle of the bar releated to the horisontal.
if you do lift then above 1" or go for a more flat angle of the clipon bar you will need to cut the fairing like I have done for my Renthals

Re: Bar height
There is also the fact that I'm not particularly observant to consider
After riding my 97 storm for a couple of years and then immediately swapping to the F2 I didn't notice any change. I didn't know the clipons were different until I read it a few weeks after buying the F2

You have hit the nail on the head there. What works for one person may not work for another. Bars like Apex are the best as they give full adjustability to suit whatever you want for whatever riding conditions. Set them up for track use one day and then the next set them up for touring. There's only one downside they cost £££if you put Steve and Carl side by side you would see a significant difference Carl would be looking at steves rib cage...........I can understand why their views on ergonomics will never be aligned
