I feel for the guy.

I for one have been concerned about the trend to raise the road level at junctions, so, at a X-roads for instance, there is a platform in the middle. Fine, but often there is no warning of this ramp other than small white triangle arrows on the slope. At night - well a real hazard on 2 or 4 wheels.

Jeez, you have to feel for him. Ouch and v dangerous obviously to have raised bits of road. Some roundabouts with sloping block edges can be a right b8stard round here.

I've been over a few railway crossings and small humpback bridges that would have that effect in either a car or bike That cop is lucky the bike didn't end up on top of him. It sh1t the life out the bird that flew away as well

All he needed to do was stand up on the pegs....and maybe turn up the steering damper a bit and grip with the knees.
Loved the flappy hand signal from the following one, though. Hands off the bars means he was braking with his hand off the bars- not ideal.

I dont know why people seem to think speed bumps are good for stopping speeding, people who they are intended to stop I.E the sort of idiots that scream down a side road or past a school at 50mph+ generally once they discover the speed bumps generally slow down and speed right up, for other people these speed bumps are just downright dangerous and get more dangerous as they breakdown over time, I'm not sure the answer of were make the road safer by endangering someones life is quite the answer.

I think the problem with speed cameras, speed bumps and the like is that you only make that little section of the road safer but a further 20 foot later its bussiness as usual, these things only really serve to slow the flow of traffic and even cause traffic jams and in some cases cause major crashes, they also tend to cause damage to vehicles, and cost ( or not ) the local council in repairs.

The Speed bumps down our road only serve to slow down anyone who actually cares about their car. The worst culprits for flying over them are the vans and the mums. The poor kids in the back will probably develop spinal problems.

All they need is a sign saying "Sponsored by Ferodo and Girling shock absorbers" next to them.
Costs fuel, too, slowing and accelerating again.

I have always been in favour of less cameras and more traffic cops. A cop can act on the situation on what he thinks is the right thing to do ( warning or ticket ), they are a better visible deterent, as I said earlier people just slow down then speed up for cameras and bumps, but this will never change because cameras are cash cows and bumps cut the traffic police down ( a win, win for government ).

Cameras and speed bumps dont catch dangerous drivers/riders.
