Re: Regulator Rectifier issue
it seats near the battery (remove the riders seat).
First things first...the simptoms you describe are of a battery gone flat or internal cell error...check the battery on a battery cheker to see if it is good or bad...then if it is good check the charge (it should be anywhere between 13,2-14,9 (some suzukis ewen 15,2 volts))...upon cheking ewerything, check your generator (pull the regulator conector and cross messure the 3 windings on the generator plug...it should read 1,0-1,3 ohms between them)...allso check the 3 windings for shortage to the gound/chassis (turn on the peepser on your meter)...
Next let us know what you have got.
AND...if your battery is bad get a new one as your readings with bad battery are going to be off !

This is on the Fireblade forum so i'm not to sure if the same as the CB1r, but i'm sure Wheeler will know.
There are 3 ways to check the stator
1. A continuity test on all the 3 yellow wires from the stator
2. AC Voltage test use a multimeter then set dial to 600vac, Run engine and test each yellow wire with earth readings up to 70-75 volts per phase, if not suspect is the stator.
3. Remove the alternator cover for a visual check in all probability you would see the damage done its a 99% certainty.

You can get them repaired for about £90. But it means you go without a bike for a few days or up to a week.
