New camchain tensioners
New camchain tensioners
I'm putting new camchain tensioners in my storm as I don't know how old the ones on it are. Will this guarantee a stretch of mileage with no fear of the dreaded storm cct fault?
Re: New camchain tensioners
As long as you install them correctly they'll last longer than the bike - as the manual tensioners's bolt can't snap like the spring in the OEMs if you so much as look at it funny.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

That`s assuming you are fitting manual tensioners.......you are aren`t you......? Would seem daft to go to all the trouble to remove the original Honda hand grenades and replace them with some more of the same.
Fit a set of manuals (or at least do the stopper mod) and then you will have worry free miles ahead.

assuming the timing covers come off it takes about 2hrs to do the job.
dont pay a dealer and dont buy oem.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Re: New camchain tensioners
Stopper mod is always my recommendation, combines all the benifits ofthe Honda design with an added failsafe.

Getting the normal non manual ones but gonna do a stop mod on them when I feel brave enough. The front cam is dinging a bit so replacing the old tensioners with new ones. Gonna do the stop mod when I'm confident that I can do it without a disaster!
