and as for riding in crap weather if it makes you feel like a proper biker your welcome to it . i spend enough time stringing telecoms cables up in the snow/rain/wind/hail/ etc to get freezing cold/wet in my spare time. i also like going round corners as nippy as poss and when the roads are wet and slippery this is compromised so i dont bother. years ago before i had a car i used my bike all year round and cant say it made me feel much better about biking .

roll on spring and some proper (dry/warm) biking weather
:cool2
+1 used to be hard core as well and ride in any weather even in snow  maybe getting a little old, but now I prefer to stay in when it's cold and rainy :) Got to add, after living in Sydney Australia for several years, I can confess that I cannot stand this colder weather we share :D Maybe I should move to sunny California

I got a lengthy reply from the CPS to explain their decision.
