Scottoiler arrived today. Need a nice free and preferably dry weekend to get that fitted, change the tyres, give the wheels another coat of paint while the tyres are off, paint my hugger ( unless I sell it and aquire a carbon one ) and the original engine cowl in black ( matt I think ). While i'm there it might as well get fresh oil and plugs, air filter if required, and new pads that are already in the garage.
Oh, might black my top yoke while I'm at it.
Looking forward to getting stuck in to that !!!
Anyone used matt paint from a can?? I fancy using it on engine cowl and hugger ( in black ).

Re: Things to do...
It's not so much the paint that's a problem with matt but depending on what paint you use, finding a matt lacquer. The only other way is to use some 2000 wet n dry very lightly over the top and matt it down before waxing with preferably a wax designed for matt finishes.Anyone used matt paint from a can?? You could always get Marty to carbon wrap it.

Re: Things to do...
i reckon satin black is better than matt black, loads of sprays out there lee, even gloss black for the top yoke, i used satin hammerite on my top and bottom yoke, i was very impressed with the finish, although i would say that since they've been painted they've sat indoors and the paint is now nice and hard, i reckon the longer you leave it to cure the better....
i'll post some pictures for you if you want lee.....

Got to thinking about satin while I was out. I wonder how well it would hold up on the wheels...hmmmmmmbigspanishmarty wrote:i reckon satin black is better than matt black, loads of sprays out there lee, even gloss black for the top yoke, i used satin hammerite on my top and bottom yoke, i was very impressed with the finish, although i would say that since they've been painted they've sat indoors and the paint is now nice and hard, i reckon the longer you leave it to cure the better....![]()
