got my sp back :D

Post by benny hedges »

finally!

new tank, mudguard, left fairing, nose, lh lamp, left bar, bar end, clutch lever, clutch res, mc & switchgear, both front discs, new mirrors, left rad & guard, left footpeg assy, gearchange & heel guard, new front wheel, new dash at 4 miles lol, new standard exhausts (which i'll be leaving on til warm weather comes)

they've put a new tyre on as well, which is odd as mine had only done 300 mile but hey!

i was expecting it to come back with a standard screen but theyve fitted a dark tint zeroG which im more than happy with cos i'd have had to buy one myself.

theyve also valetted it and waxed the chain :D
it looks as lovely as i remember - except not the unsightly stonechip has gone off the top of my tank!
not checked yet how much fuel is in it cos i had near enough a full tank when i crashed....

all in, a lot of wombles about due mostly to some of the parts being unobtainable from honda - they had to repair & xray the top yoke as there are none left on the planet.

but i'd rather have that than one off a crashed bike tbh.
and theyve refitted my heated grips as requested :)

was hoping for an early finish to get out and do some proper miles but got stuck on a job in skem.

i'll take it for a quick run after tea :)

Hooray well happy for you mate. Looks as good as new with very low miles  I see you have a standard dash. Wouldn't the insurance go for the non standard parts then.

Just in time for the nice weather

i did discuss with the repairer about my ideal fix up and what i'd like, and while they said theyd be happy to do tht i dont think i wouldve got it for free lol.
im more than happy with it returned back to pristine standard condition tbh.

got to mot it next mth so will leave the oem zorsts on til then, then refit my akros and pc3 etc

my firestorm..... well, the engine is almost finished, but the rest of it hasnt moved along much.
with my off and getting finished from my old job just before crimbo, the £700 & odd i made on ebay which was meant to fund the rebuild had to be spent on my kids and towards bills etc :(
so it's still a work in progress.
ive no intention of rushing it and have most of the parts, bodywork, new lights etc, just need to do the powder coating, respray the race bodykit, ceramic coat the headers and rebearing the rolling chassis.

might rework the s/a as well while im at it cos i hate the original clothesprop effort.
id like it finished for summer, but no rush

Now stop photographing it and get some flies on it....
Nice to see it back, though.

It did stay near enough upright... Just it was leaning against a bollard and i was on my back down the road at the time lol

Toe, if any flies land on my bike i will kill them.
