That's something I am a bit slack with. I've not changed the oil since I've bought it :eek2 It's been topped up, but not changed. It on my list as soon as I replace the cover.

I was only referring to the blue colour  .... I quite like the idea, it'll look a bit like the Ducati dry clutch whizzing round.
Although I was thinking about whether I can get a little laser to fit inside, or fibreoptics, maybe even a strobe.....

If you fitted a hypno disc- something like this:
https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/imag ... ZrrqYMDkXQ

it might look quite interesting.

Tell you what, if Anglian Windows ring up any more I might ask them for a no-obligation quote, for them to supply and fit a double-glazed unit into an old casing- just to watch the bloke's face, especially if he has to give me a free door if I buy one.....today we're going through the ROUND window, boys and girls......
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

PMSL Now that is one of the funniest things I have heard. I would like to see his face as well. You should get them round for a quote.

I have already thought about a pattern.

And a strobe to slow it all down.

The pattern I like, but the control units for the strobe which changes the colour of the bulbs and all the other stuff, I am not too keen on. I want to be able to just wire it straight into my lighting circuit with a simple switch. It would be nice if I had a three way switch OFF/ ON/ON STROBE. Now that would be cool.

Or, now correct me if I'm wrong. I could wire it into the low tension ignition circuit and have it flash with the revs. Now that would be really cool. Would I need a capacitor or resistor in the wiring for that.

Today I got around to making a start on painting the cover. I masked odd the water pump and oil level window and then gave it a good couple of coats of Etch primer. I thought this would make a nice base with good adhesion. I then got a light coat of Rust-Oleum Textured Stone Effect Black Granite Spray Paint. This is designed for interior use but I shall coat it in an exterior clearcoat to help protect it. I didn't think it was a heat resistant paint and was willing to take the risk. But I have just discovered in the small print that it is heat resistant to 90 degrees, so well happy about that. :D The only downside is that it's spirit based so there will be big gaps between coats to allow it to dry.

Anyway here's a couple of pics and as you can see it will give me the desired textured effect. The paint does have some White flecks in it but they don't show to well with the Grey basecoat grinning through.

I've still got to order a clutch cover gasket and fit the cover to the bike and measure my clearances before I decide on the final thickness Lexan sheet is required. I also need to make sure there is space to run a LED strip light around the circumference. I may as well paint my Clutch plate at the same time before putting the Clutch cover currently on the bike back on. I'm thinking of using some Red brake calliper paint as this will withstand the high temperatures. I shall make a stencil so I can spray my hypno psychedelic pattern on the plate and spray away. It will need at least 48h or as long as possible to allow it to fully cure before running inside the engine :biggrin

It was Aussie Shane's bike that was my inspiration for the textured look.

I'm looking forward to getting a few more coats on. But it would be great stuff for getting that two tone look.

er I cropped in to an already compressed image. Which got compressed again. I couldn't be bothered removing any artefacts I could with software.

Here the original.
