SP project to date......

Post by turbo_billy »

It`s been a while since I made any real progress due to life getting in the way but as the sun was shining today, I dragged it out and took a few pictures.
Tank is a rattle can mock up to get the overall effect as my painter is swamped until end of April earliest. (looking to lose the wings and use the domed black badge as per original legends rep) Wheels need painting still and numberplate and rear indies fitting.
Still not convinced with the high levels so have aquired a set of normal level Jardines to try, just need some low level hangers. Overall, not a million miles away so should be ready for biking season proper :D

I really like that, not a fan of high levels but it's personal choice.

I'm with you on the pipes TB, they look so wrong on the bike, go back to std level type they have a lovely kick up.

The rest of it

Love the legends paint job, but I still struggle with the Z bend link pipes. But as said on another thread, I am not Lawrence lewllyn Bowen.

Really nice colour scheme you got there. I love it.

As above, I am not a fan of the raised pipes on the SP, the angle looks too steep for me, I prefer the original angles.

Another thumbs down on the pipes here. The rest of it looks great and that tank does not look to bad for a rattle can job. A bit of polishing and some wax and that would blenf in well.

Cheers Carl, but in this case pictures really make the paint look a lot better than it is (Know your limitations......I`ll never make a painter as long as I have a hole in my butt....)

And I agree with the majority about the pipes. Just need some hangers and I can swap them out. You know what it`s like, when something niggles you it will always niggle you..... :)

love the paint  and just to be different I like the high rise pipes but the cans could do to be shorter so as not to protrude past the tail

love the colour schrme, agree with the tank decal(domed badge would be better)
i like the high levels, the only thing i would like to see change is either, shorter cans, because the linkpipes mate the cans look a tad long, or carbon fibre cans, i don't think the bluey-s/s cans suit the paint job.....just my opinion. cracking looking bike that will get lots of attention this summer.....

Just a thought. If those link pipes went under the tail a bit more of had an elbow on, shorten the pipes and have them directly under the tail. Now that would look pretty cool. Or better still have the pipes coming up the other side of the swingarm and under the seat.
