looks like you rode through wet tar!!!............I will have to trust your instincts on this as I cant see where that paint effect is going.........but what do I know, I like yellow bikes and I cant pick a tie to match a shirt
with Al on this - more like a sneeze over it after leaving the filters out the roll ups  Seriously intrigued though carl to see the results after a few layers and then the disco gear inside - will be unique, globally! How will it tie in with the rest of the paintwork I wonder ?

Applied a second coat of the textured stuff today.

Then I applied a Satin clearcoat.

Which I didn't like, so then applied a Matte finish over the top.

It's still got a bit of sheen to it as it's not fully cured yet. I'm hoping it dulls down a bit more. But overall I am pretty happy with it and the looks.

Ordered a clutch cover gasket and some high temp Red and White paint. So next step will be to fit and check clearances, then paint my funky pattern on the Clutch pressure plate.

At some stage yes.

I know it's not to everyone's taste but we are all different, especially me  It looks great when you stand back from it as the texture and and the White flecks blend into it. Should look pretty cool on the bike. Even more so once I paint my forks and get the bodywork done.

You're painting your body the same?

Wouldn't it be better to get a couple of tattoos?

Well, I need to see it in the flesh to make my mind up, but for now it looks like you've brushed on some car underseal, and left it where ash from the bonfire has drifted onto it.

Perhaps the flashing lights will distract the eye.
Keep going, I'm interested to see how it turns out.
BTW, you could always make up a thicker gasket if there's not enough room, the gasket thickness isn't critical, really, as long as you space the ignition trigger accordingly.
The water pump drive shaft is long enough to space it out 5mm or so, I would have thought.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

  It doesn't help that it's still a bit shiny as it accentuates the texture and those pictures show every little detail. It's one of those ones that look better as you stand back a bit. You never know I may end up at some time covering it with a lot more laquer and smoothing sown a bit.

Good tip  I shouldn't need to though hopefully as there is the depth from the head of the bolt that connect the sound plate. So if I need a bit of extra I can remove that and put a more narrow bolt or a bit of threaded bar and a nut on instead. That would gain me a few mm. I could even remove the sound plate all together which would give me even more.

I found a good switch to use for the lighting.

I'm thinking of mounting it up font in the horizontal flat bit of faring just in front of the levers. I already have a small hole there from where the previous owner fitted an LED or something.
