what works

Post by logan7 »

got my storm in feb and love it but just want to give a bit of feedback on the mods i have done.
IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS great imo, bike was a pig to start and run when cold but with these plugs sweet as a nut. no more stalling as soon as the choke is off top marks
15 TOOTH FRONT SPROCKET had this on my cbr600 and it transformed the bike, on the storm not so much. i think the storm has a much flexible engine and needs it less.
AIRBOX MOD it smothes out the engine and my mpg is much better  theres no flat spots or dips in the power  and it free

so far so good and when i get more money the forks will get sorted

Agreed - iridium plugs are the biz - used to have to leave the choke out for about 5 minutes after startup - now, about 30secs. 8)

Interested in the airbox mod - did you have the carb mixture altered afterwards? What sort of mpg increase? Did you do this at the same time as the 15T front, because if you did, how do you know which is responsible - the 15T will put the odometer out too so you'll think you are getting more mpg!

As you say, simple mod and if it doesn't work you can always buy a new filter, but I'm thinking it must be there for a reason?
