Yeah, maybe that weekend watching the dyno man has made me un-necessarily scared of em! Can't remember the age of that ZX10 but maybe it was an older one without a limiter!

As said running a bike on the dyno won't cause the engine to blow, however if there's already an underlying problem with the engine that could cause it...also a dyno operator shouldn't use the rear brake to slow the roller as it can put uneccessary load on the engine, the roller should slow in it's own time, but some light braking shouldn't cause troubles, an experienced dyno operator will know what to do.. I suspect the zx10 in this case had a problem.
