I know how Seb felt.
Been taking minor bits off the bike in prep for when it goes. What is it about these things that makes you not want to part with them. Every other bike I've sold has been easy. These you just want to keep !!!!

I'll have the cans if you take them off .
I will also supply a standard jet kit to put it back to standard :-)

Re: I know hoe Seb felt.
Luggage racks stay on for full asking. Bike back to standard except for cans and jetting £2000. The ventura stuff is nearly 300 alone. If you added up the extras I've fitted the bikes going for about £1500. Cans were 400, svottoiler 80, screen 50, levers 80, braided hoses ??, Hugger 80 ish new, maybe more, bagster gear is !80 ish new, this lot on a near mint 13000 mile bike thats been maintained to within an inch of its life is a fcuking bargain. Had an Italian bloke ring me earlier, asking how to secure the bike, and he's supposedly gonna ring back. Wants to collect thurs/Fri, but you know ebay, full of bullshitters....so we'll see.bigspanishmarty wrote:are you taking the luggage racks off mate, be a man, don't cry about it....![]()

Already got the standard jets...just cant be arsed to remove them, and these cans make the bike much more saleable imo.

Re: I know how Seb felt.
its strange, a very clean totally standard bike can fetch the same money as one thats had good money spent on good upgrades, like the leo's, hence the stripping it back to nearly standard.
these are the items i would like to see when buying a storm.
hugger
d/b screen
cct's done
finned r/r
fender extender
must have seat cowl.
other than that, a nice set of cans just make it more saleable, you don't really get your money back on them tho.
well maintained with good consumables...tyres/chain/sprockets/brakes are probably more important as is an owner who has cared for their bike regardless of cost....
fingers crossed the italian stallion comes a knocking.....

Strange how these bikes have a hold on their owners. They must have secret powers.

It's ridiculous how bikes work their way into your heart. I have a love/hate relationship with my hornet, as it commonly screws me over, but was discussing selling it with my brother as we each own 50% of it (as we were gonna streetfighter it when I moved onto the VTR) and I don't want to anymore. It hisses and growls but the thing still soldiers through it all and is the best thing I've ever owned and used. I can't imagine how painful it must be for a bike you love so dearly, as my heart was wrenching over my temperamental bike.

none of the above bears any relation to how you described it in earlier posts when it jokingly stranded you in deepest darkest Clacton..

I know. As much as it angers me I can't hate it
