black radiators

i`m thinking of spraying my radiators black to try and make them look slightly less obvious from the side of the bike has anyone done this and if yes is there any pics of the end result

The paint is by a company called eastman

As it is aluminium you should use the correct undercoat before any topcoat

They do this paint specifically for radiators in order not to interfere with the cooling

It sprays directly onto the aluminium

Using normal paint may not be worth the savings

+1 on using paint specifically made for radiators. It pays off in the long run

one can of frosts rad paint will do about 6 rads easy i've slao done my oil cooler....
also take of the protective grill and do them aswell. tbh the rads are cheap and nasty with bits of weld stuck to them, i took the time to rub them down as much as possible before painting them, the frost rad paint is very good and easy to use, very good quality indeed......
i also bought there exhaust paint, but i wasn't as impressed with it....

Be careful removing the grill though as it has tabs on them that can easily snap, so go easy and don't be too heavy handed.

yeah, but i have spares ones already sprayed satin black, surprise suprise they happen to be for sale, be as heavy handed as you want buddy...

im just gonna spray the things whilst stil on the bike to be honest

be very very careful of overspray, you will still need to take off the criss cross mesh if you want a decent job mate. i did a little bit of spraying with the rads still on the bike, i taped/newspapered up where needed, the next day i found overspray on the forks and front mudguard.....grrrrrrr!!!!
