Bike even
Re: Help
Hmmmmmm, if there automatics then one may have failed or maybe be on its way out which is why it may have slipped. Look in the knowledge base and find the guide for changing the CCT's and follow that. Also try turning the engine over by hand and see if you can hear and abnormal noises ect. May be one has failed and a rebuild is required. Someone with more knowledge than me on the subject will provide some more info at some point I am sure.

Re: Help
Ohh well I guess I might as well do the cct mod whilst I'm doing the timing. Question is do I do it myself or do I pay someone to do it for me? Thanx for advice guys

Re: Help
Change of plan it's going back into dealers for him to sort
Re: Help
You ride your trainers
Yep not reeving past 7 thou is a symptom of timing being out 180 degrees. Once it reaches 7 thou does it behave like a limiter and just stop or does it go past but bogs down and struggles?

Re: Help
It was like a limiter I nev tried to push past it just backed it off
Re: Help
Agreed.
The issue isn't that the timing is wrong, as pulling the cam covers off will reveal the timing marks lining up properly, but the relationship between one cylinder firing and the next, how much the crank turns between firing pulses.
You'll find that the rear cylinder fires, then the front one fires 90 degrees later.
You need it to be 270 degrees later.
All they need to do is turn it to tdc rear cylinder (no need to touch the front one) with the cams pointing up and towards each other, then remove the cam caps and cams, then holding the cam chain loosely to stop it jamming round the crankshaft, rotate the engine anticlockwise one full turn at the crank, until RT is lined up once more.
Then fit the cams, with lobes pointing up and towards each other as before.
Half an hour, tops.
Someone's been taking cams out........probably a failed CCT recently, but possibly just valve clearances done by a numpty.
Suggest you print this out and give it to them.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
