How the eck does the licensing work :confused With the storm being 100bhp as standard then it seems that even with a restrictor the Firestorm will be over the allowable restricted licence limit.

A2 Restricted 46bhp Licence – The route to a full licence for age 19 and over

http://www.wiganridertraining.co.uk/und ... p-licence/
A2 restricted licence.

You will have a 46bhp restriction, but 46bhp is plenty for running around town and commuting to and from work.

...

Category A unrestricted licence.

It is possible to fit power restrictor kits to larger bikes to bring them down to 46 bhp however you should note that if the engine power of the motorcycle has been restricted to fit sub-category A2, the normal unrestricted power can’t be more than double its new restricted power.

For example

The original unrestricted power of the bike is 90bhp then the maximum restriction would be 45bhp so this bike would be ok for the A2 licence

However

If your original unrestricted power is 100bhp, the maximum restriction would be 50 bhp and that would not be ok for riding on the A2 licence.

Something you might want to check out before you go off and buy that R1!

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

That's the new license. Pre-January 2013 license (got mine in October) means I can restrict anything in the world down to 33bhp (provided it has more than that originally, of course) I could do it to an S1000RR if I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth
