Alternative Oil Filter - Cheap car type for Storm needed

Post by Inventive »

Hi all.. Months ago I was browsing a site and someone mentioned using a car oil filter as a much cheaper alternative to paying hand over fist at the Honda dealer..

Does anyone know which car make and model and year is an exact match for the Honda OE oil filter?

Thanks Ddarren

Errr... I wouldn't exactly call €10 (£6.50 STG) a "hand over fist" payment. I mean, unless you're racing the bike or doing track days on a regular basis, you're going to be changing the filter at best once every 2000 miles or so....

Damn cheapskates!! :D
Out of my way or I'll eat the lot of ye!!

That's one area I would NOT cut corners on IMHO. How much would you save yourself when good oil and fiter is basically the heart of any engine :!:
I know its your choice so you must decide

I remember that for my NC30 there was a kawasaki one that was the same but the genuine kwaker one was half the price of the honda one (£3). its probably the same as the storm one.

Cooking oil is cheaper than bike oil, you should put that in as well.

Hey fellas! Did you notice that was Inventive's very first post? We've been trying to lure new blood to the site & you've all just taken the mickey. Give the bloke a chance! You should all pull your woolly 'eads in (as my dad would say) & apologise :!:
