Does anyone know the colour code for a matte black storm?

Post by Virt »

Looking at belly pans and I've found the one I want, but I'm gonna have to paint it the colour myself but don't know the exact colour

Look under the seat for a sticker on the sub-frame.

Or just buy blackboard paint

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Hey if he uses that then we can all leave messages for him on his belly pan. Good thinking Wicky

No, that would be Satin Black. A mid sheen.

I think it is Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic (NH-436M) but as wicky said, check the label on the subfame as this will have the paint code on.

I hope you realise it's very time consuming getting a good finish spraying it your self. primer, wet n dry with 600 grade, then fill any bits that need filling, prime again and then rub down with 800, put the first coat of colour on, rub down with 600 grade, then another coat of colour, rub down again, then a light dust coat of colour, then then 2 or 3 coats of lacquer, rub down with 800 grade to get rid of any light runs and orange peel, then a light coat of lacquer over the top, rub down with 1200 grade and then polish, then wax. :biggrin

You could just get a Black one and then matte it down with some 1200 grade wet n dry. Then wax it with the matte wax. Or even better after rubbing it down get some matte lacquer if you can find any, then wax. Yeh just get the Black ones they sell and matte it down, that would be your best option.

I think it is Matte Really Dull Black Metallic (SH-1tE) but as Wicky said, check the label on the subfame as this will have the paint code on.

For best results to wipe it off use Andrex.

It makes no difference as to the colour Virt they will all be faster than yours.

Having one of the few if not only matt black ones here dose make you special

needs.
