Touch up paint

Post by Saintsman27 »

Well I noticed an ever so small scratch on the paint visible to the rear of my seat. I have a Yellow 2001
Storm I thought... mmm some people wouldnt even bother its so small but well I'll see if I can do a
paint touch up on a blemish about 5 mm long... went all over everywhere ... Car Dealers,DIY
outlets , Halfrauds, Motorcycle outlets .. Dont have touch up paint but we have this ..
Pricey £8.50 upwards. scratch kits etc colour matching ?. same thing...well I'll look around ..

So ruminating deeply about this little problem I walked passed an Art / Model shop ...en route home ..I went in..

I err ... exlained what I wanted ... Nay problem Sir come with me .. .. back of shop must be a hundred small tins of Humbrol enamel
at £1.65 per tin ... bright colours , dark colours ...anything ... I guess used in Model making/ repair/restoration
and I picked up a small tin of hardy yellow enamel paint .. paid and walked away dead chuffed...did the job .. perfect.
Few bob saved.. Art shops/ Model shops .. brill
So I thought I would pass this on .....

For future reference what's the yellow colour code for bike (under the seat on the subframe) and the colour code/name of the Humbrol paint you used.

Good work fella

I had a look on their site and did a search for Italian red (which is the fastest colour in my opinion :shh: )

might be worth trying. I do have some touchup paint I got from Halfrauds but Im not totally happy with it.

Yep I bought a little tin of red from the model shop at RAF Cosford last year, works a treat!
