Insurance Choice
Insurance Choice
Anyone heard of a company called Insurance Choice ?
I've got a quote for £750 on the VTR from them.. It sounds incredibly dodgy because it's so cheap, but if it isn't I'm jumping in there...

Cheap?
Do they send round a fit blonde to give you a ham shank at that price?

Re: Insurance Choice
Considering anywhere else it's 2k+ right now
They said to phone them up so I just did. Turns out £750 is just a generic quote to lure people into trying them out. They won't actually supply me with a quote.. Sports bike and young rider. Absolute tw*ts.

How many years have you had a licence?Virt wrote:Considering anywhere else it's 2k+ right nowThey said to phone them up so I just did. I assume you have tried the comparison websites?
Have you tried adding older riders to the policy, it will reduce the cost. My other half's policy on her CBR600 was reduced from £600 TPFT to £400 TPFT by adding me. She's 24 and passed her test approx 6 months ago.

I've had my provisional for over a year if that counts.. I passed in octoberMiztaziggy wrote: How many years have you had a licence?

Re: Insurance Choice
So you're going to cancel the policy you already have and start a new one? Why? Generally I would think it is better to keep the policy going and get the 1 year's no claims. It makes about 20-40% difference.
Sarah passed in October too, and as far as I know, a CBR 600 is similar group to a VTR, so really confused why it is so much more for your insurance, only difference is she had 1 year's no claims from her 125
That new EU rule has come into effect now and it isn't supposed to be more expensive for men that women (in fact, I have been trying for quotes for my car insurance today, and they no longer have a male / female choice on the form).

Re: Insurance Choice
No I want to keep the hornets' policy going.. then cancel the VTR's in October and make a new one with that years no claims, as the people who offer cheapest now are one of the most expensive next year... But the problem is it's money being spent :/ idk. I'm seeing my Dad tomorrow now. Will pester him about it

Re: Insurance Choice
Ah yeah of course
When I was on a 33bhp restriction my insurance was a joke too because you have to list it as a modification, there by reducing the amount of people who will quote you lol

I haven't listed it as a mod, I haven't even listed the Ohlins or HyperPro front springs as a mod! I don't earn enough. They want more than I earn in a year otherwise

Ahh that explains itVirt wrote:Callam I'm 18 though

So what's the rule these days with restriction then when you're 18? How long do you have to wait till you can remove it?
