Getting expensive...
I seem to have the bug for modifications to the Storm!
It makes no sense at all but I have an ever growing list which is going to cost a pretty penny, and for what?
It will still ride more or less the same albeit with better suspension..
So far:
Led front Indis
Led combined rear light / indis
Belly pan
Arrow carbon cans
No pillion peg brackets
Pazzo style levers
Polished wheel rims
Double bubble screen
Braided hoses
Pending:
Undertray
19l tank
Gilles rearsets
Spare Swingarm to polish
Polish fork botttoms
Future:
Black frame and sub
Rear shock
Revalve forks
Radial master cylinder
Possible paint job.
By the time I am done reckon bike will stand me at 5-6 k.
House needs tiling and carpets etc and Vfr750 getting ready for an exhaust!
Somebody talk some sense into me!!!!!!!!!

5-6 k, I don't know how you came up with that figure unless you getting a garage to do all the work. If yo do a bit at a time it does not see so expensive. There is no sense to passion.

Shouldn't come to that figure unless it's a brand new ohlines (bad spelling) shock and new full Arrow system.
The storm is an absolute pleasure to work on and modify and self tune trying different things out. Possibly the must underestimated bike and over looked by many as just a poor man's ducati (in slow red anyway)
Working on the bike in good weather trying different filters and jet configurations will give you hours of pleasure (not so fun when it's not sunny and warm)
There is an abundance of parts on the market and a thriving almost cult following on the dedicated forums
Bit gutted my mate Dan didn't get that bike for 600 quid would have been great to have got him hooked and shown him the ways of the storm
It's also very surefooted in strong winds and cross winds etc it's not much fun on the gixxer or the blade getting ripped around the storm seemed to just hammer through a wind with out getting off line
If it didn't have the CCT issues and a reputation as a gas guzzling wombles it would have held its used price alot better, good for the buyers but sh1t for the seller's hence once you get one it becomes a commitment and a labour of love as if you sell it you will be out of pocket
I do want another one when finances allow

Bought bike for 1600. Already spent about 1100 on exhausts, rearsets, belly pan, rear light, can hangers, 19l tank,etc.
Am doing all work myself except will send forks for revalve.

I have to agree the Firestorm is a 'real world' Ducati even if it doesn't ooze the same levels of quality or character.
Of probably 20 bikes owned, the storms, nc30s, my vfr750, pan European and the Ducatis are at the top of the list.

its an illness alright, i've lost count of what my bikes cost, as for a respray, a good painter will charge you £500 if you want something fancy it'll cost more, but it shouldn't cost a grand fella.

What year blade you on? Is your storm fully faired? This could make a difference as always used the storm with a powerbronze lower

with the exception of the front fork mods and stompgrips, all my other changes can be removed and the standard parts put back on. then I can sell the bike as stock and make £2000 selling all my goodies to you lot.
I did look at the cost a while back, but it was scary, so I stopped taking notes and without data I feel much happier that I dont have a problem

after realising I could almost have bought an sp for what I've spent this year so far I've decided never to have a count up again
