GSXR engine oil

by chance does anyone know what oil should be used in the GSXR 1000 K5 - k6

i've racked up a fair bit of miles on this oil and its been in a for a bit its due a change was hoping to get some early tomorrow morning and do the change first thing before heading out

Hoping my Quick drain oil valve will swap over no problems from the VTR onto the GSXR? otherwise looks like im going to have to remove the fairing and it looks like a ball ache of a job with all the bolts and those shitty push tab things you get in car interiors that are annoying to get out

i know i should ask on the suzuki site but no joke it takes a wombles age to get a half assed response on there

10/40 semi synthetic, silkoline super4 will be good enough but if you want to treat her a bit go for comp4, still semi (as we know ) but reassuringly a little more expensive. Or any equivalent semi synth like Motul 5100 for example.

It's been a while since I've changed oil on a K5 but i'm pretty sure you don't need to remove the fairing, the sump bolt iirc is between each side of the belly pan, it's a deep sump so easy to access.

Yeah you will only need to remove the fairing to get to the oil filter.

Seb, if you want to set off with a clean bike, then you can call at my house on your way over and make use of the hose and a sponge etc

Otherwise there is a place at Garforth next to Tesco that is like a big DIY car wash with loads of power hoses and brushes etc, it costs like £1 for 10 minutes.

Nice one chaps was looking at a download manual for it and it looked like I had to remove the fairing
