Rear suspension is Ohlins aftermarket, front forks are upgraded HyperPro or something springs
don't tell them about the springs just declare an aftermarket shock

have you tried a back to back with no mods and one with mods how much different was it?

With everyone except MCE there was about £800 difference fully comp.. Which means that it's twice the price of MCE as it will cost me £800 fc with 1 years no claims'... MCE doesn't change at all with my declaring it because it's a QoL mod rather than a performance mod. I thought the others wouldn't change because of this, but apparently that's not the case

There's £100 in it between fc and tpft... £100 isn't particularly much and as I'm gonna be paying it in one lump sum it will end up working out at the same price-ish as paying tpft monthly.. Normally I would go tpft but I don't feel like it would do the bike justice.. Seeing as it's barely been turned on before

That's what I thought, I was very confused but £100 is nothing really and I'd rather have the best I can afford. No idea why the gap is quite small though.. There was a larger gap between tpft and fc before I moved last month... From a small-ish village to the town centre. fc is cheaper here than it was there, but tpft costs more here. it's all so confusing :( Maybe they think I'll be using the bike for only going through the 20mph town centre  Yeah right

Same here, tpft is usually only about two thirds the price of fully comp

thats mad
You think that's mad, sometimes fully comp works out cheaper than TPFT, it was on my Fazer but not the Storm. There is just no sense to how they work it all out.

been getting the run around with insurance quotes for the new bike....

i have 5yrs protected no claims... but as my claim is ongoing its on hold.
mce have honoured it at 2 years :s
and at that ive been getting ridiculously expensive quotes, mainly cos ive got 6 points and the bike is brand new.
so earlier i rang mce and asked if they could do better than the 1024 they quoted me yesterday -
this is what they sent.

so i then rang customer services and asked for a copy of my ncb entitlement - they confirmed it as 5 years :D

i didnt want to gamble on it tbh so i'll see what it says on the cert when it comes - they wont send proof of ncb until after my policy expires on the 6th.

so with the 2 years theyve guaranteed - look at this

thats with protected no claims and 1m legal cover.

if it happens they send me 5yrs NCB then i'll contact them for a further drop, assuming it doesnt cost more than the £25 admin fee to update it.

interestingly, adding pillion cover, protecting no claims and reducing voluntary excess to 0 made no difference to the quote.
happy days.

i've just posted off all the documentation for the new bike and it will be with me on thursday

popped in to see the solicitor who's handling my claim before and theyre confident of a 100% result in my favour... you should see the claim lol! amazing!
theyre pushing for out of pocket expenses of 3875 and personal injuries between 5-15k
i sort of feel sorry for the 3rd party's solicitor!
highly reccomended http://www.dalgarnosolicitors.co.uk/ aka http://www.sorrymate.com

as some of you have found out - mce's bargain recovery isnt worth a fiddler.
it only covers you for 10 miles and doesnt cover you if you crash.
i reccomend you get the full aa package from autonet instead for £39.

helmet and leathers cover - good luck with that one.
it says £700 but read the small print. youre only actually covered for a maximum of £300 and theres a 100 excess.
have a look what you can buy for £200 - that just about covers my gloves, and maybe a pinlock

courtesy bike - isnt a courtesy bike at all, its a credit hire bike. with a £600 excess, usually a cbf600.
they offered me one and i said no ta, i'll use the bus, its faster.
add the fact that a 3rd party claim will most probably refuse to pay for credit hire, which btw amounts to £78 a day for the cbf.

so all those extras are not as golden as they may seem!
add to that their appointed solicitors are totally shite and cherry pick the most juicy claims and poo poo the others (yours) and their repair centre is staffed by monkeys.
(though you do get a new bike out of it if you kick up enough of a fuss!)

i thought i was doing myself a favour going with mce as theyre a bigger company. how wrong i was.
dont get me wrong, the actual admin side and claim assist id bob on, very efficient, but it all goes downhiill from there.
hopefully you never get to find out
