Castrol Power 1 semi synthetic 10-30, YES 10-30 that's what's recommended by the mechanics at Hunts, Honda dealer near me, they also sponsor Michel Dunlop, so they should know what they're talking about

Not cheap, but remember, if you skimp on oil you'll pay later :(

Alot of people run car oil without issue but its not supposed to be good for the clutch. I wouldnt do it myself. 8O

Iirc car oil isn't a good idea as it's only used in the engine in the car and not the gearbox and clutch as well like a bike so they don't have the additional additives that's required

I have run engine oil for the last 3 years without any problem, all you have to do is change it more frequently(about 2500 miles) and you know when it going off and needs changing cause you get a little clutch slip.

This reinforces what the guys on here say that car oil is not suited for being squashed and attacked by clutches.

I have now changed to Castrol Power 1 so it should last the whole season with one oil change rather than the two I had to do with the car engine oil.

You may say why do it, I had a car that I changed oil every 3000 miles therefore I used the same oil in both as I would buy 5 gallons a time, so worked out cheaper, I now have a diesel and I dare not try that oil in the bike.

Actually oil spec'ed for use in a diesel engine would be better for your bike than standard auto oil.

The reason is that diesel spec oil does not have the anti-friction additives that cause issue with your clutch.

4 litres would not be enough either as she takes 4.6 litres for a filter and oil change
