Hello from RiDE Magazine

Post by KevRide »

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself here, having joined (gatecrashed would be more accurate) your forum as part of my research for a big feature on the VTR for RiDE Magazine, which will appear in a couple of months' time.
This will be one of our big (7-8 pages) buying guides which we produce every month, relying heavily on real-world experience and tips from the people who know the bikes best - the owners.
In other words, you lot....

I'll be emailing every VTR owner we have on our database, asking for information and experiences, but I'm also keen to cast the net as wide as possible, so if anyone would like a questionnaire to fill in, please feel free to email me at ridemagazine@orange.fr , or alternatively I'm happy to post it here for people to cut and paste. Please also feel free to pass it on to other owners or to cross-post this request in other Firestorm-related forums. Every response helps!

Thanks for reading,

Kev Raymond

Welcome Kev you are in one of the best places for real world knowledge and experiences for the Firestorm. Any info you require just ask away. Between everyone on this forum we know these bikes inside out, mechanically and performance and handling. Oh and don't forgot the modifications that can be made.

I look forward to reading the article, let us know when it's going to print and I will make a point of buying a copy.

Okey-dokey. If you could email replies to ridemagazine@orange.fr that would be great.
Thanks,

QUESTIONNAIRE
HOW TO BUY QUESTIONNAIRE FOR RiDE MAGAZINE

Thanks for filling this in - every response really helps.
Please, please PLEASE answer questions in as much detail as possible – better to write too much than too little!

1: Your name:
2: Your age:
3: Occupation:
4: Bike model:
5: Year:
6: Mileage at purchase:
6a: Mileage now:
7: Average MPG (if known):
8: Average tank range (if known):
9: Tyre life: Fr: Rr:
9a: Tyre choice – what do you like, and why?

10: A bit of background - your biking history, how you ended up with this bike in the first place.

11: Good points – why you’d recommend the bike to others, what it’s good at, why you like it. The more detail the better.

12: Bad points - did it break down? Are/were there bits you don’t like about it? What would you change?

13: Servicing - rough costs if you have it dealer serviced, or level of difficulty if you do it yourself. Any hints and tips for anyone planning to do their own servicing?

14: Anything else? Modifications made, trips you’ve done? Owners’ forums you recommend? Sources for parts and accessories? Anything I’ve forgotten?

15: Pics - if you want to send some (and tell us what they’re about!), please feel free. Please don’t include them in this or any other Word doc though - they’re a nightmare to retrieve again. JPG attachments is fine.

welcome to the forum kev.
i look forward to reading the article, the storms a very under rated bike, they're also a bit of a marmite bike, but i think the riders that can't gel with the bike are used to il4's.
i'll have a bash at the questionaire when i get a spare 10mins........
