General
I have been told that it is best to get the bike down to the track in a van or on a trailer. I will be buying a trailer before this event and coming down in the car. They aren’t expensive on Ebay for second hand trailers.
Once there, tape up, take off or turn in your mirrors. You should not be able to see behind you in your mirrors, this is very likely to distract your attention and may cause you to lose control of your bike.... you should be focusing ahead of you not behind.
You should also tape up your speedo. Just use your rev counter.
Lower your tyre pressures. This is especially relevant for road bike riders. Your tyres will become much hotter when you ride on track than when you ride on the road, and this will cause the pressure to increase. The weather conditions and the speed at which you ride will play a part in how much you drop your pressures, so do take advice from our tyre experts on the day.
Gear Required
A full leather 1-piece race suit or a fully zipped together 2-piece. The zip must encircle your torso, and there should be no gap bewteen the jacket and the trousers when the zip is done up.
An ACU (gold sticker) safety helmet which must be properly fastened.
Motorcycle gloves
Motorcycle boots
Please do not wear other types of gloves or boots, as you will not have adequate protection should you come off your bike.
A back protector is also a good idea and these are available to hire if you don't have one - details below. You may consider wet-weather gear.

Noise
Please read this:
You may need to get your bike tested before you go. Most bikes **should** be OK at 105dB.

Leather hire is available at a cost of approx £35 plus £10 delivery:

Bike Hire
CBR 600 / R6 type bikes available to hire ranging from £120 to £250 depending on which company and which bike you use

Tracks:
Mallory

Circuit length: 1.3m
Petrol: On site
Pit garages: Yes - limited number
Catering: Lakeside Diner on site
Noise Level: 105 dB weekdays/95-98 dB weekends - check for the date you wish to book
Animals: Not permitted on site.

In the heart of the Leicestershire countryside sits Mallory Park, known as the 'Friendly Circuit' for its more than helpful staff and a cafe that has acquired almost legendary status among trackside catering - it really is that good! Coupled with the very pretty lakes in the infield and the sloping green, natural ampitheatre you'd could almost think the 1.3m circuit might be a little on the genteel side. Once out on the track you soon discover you've been lulled into a false sense of security because Mallory is fast, so much so that a couple of chicanes have had to be added to slow the bikes down. Although on the short side, and therefore relatively easy to learn, a lap involves some intense action with quick straights, heavy braking and the amazing fast, seemingly endless Gerrards bend. In contrast, Shaws Hairpin is ultra tight and a real skill test.

The paddock is in the centre of the circuit with a limited number of garages - if you want to be guaranteed power a generator is a good idea. Spectators can get a great view all around the circuit, and access over the track is via a footbridge once the bikes are out. It may not be as grand as some other circuits but Mallory is guaranteed to make you smile.

Donnington
Circuit length: 2.5m (GP)
Petrol: On site
Pit garages: Yes
Catering: Pitstop Diner in paddock
Noise Level: 105 dB noisy days/98 dB drive by, quiet days
Animals: Dogs allowed in outer parking areas only - not permitted in paddocks
Donington has seen its fair share of 500 GP and MotoGP history and the 'Greatest Of All Time', Valentino Rossi rates this as one of his favourite circuits. Troubled times with the business adminstration behind the scenes resulted in the loss of MotoGP recently, but now back in the hands of the family who originally developed the site, Donington is once again a world class venue. The chance to ride the same circuit as true legends of the sport draws many to this prestigious track with its mix of fast flowing and slower corners. Donington is a physically demanding circuit that rewards smoothness and concentration and both the world famous Craner Curves, which swoops down rollercoaster fashion, and the blind right of Coppice require more than a little nerve. Off the famous tarmac you'll find all the facilities you'd expect of a circuit that caters to the elite of world motorsport.

Cadwell Park
Circuit length: 2.2m Full circuit
Petrol: On site or cash only petrol station left out of entrance, 1.5m. Otherwise Louth, right out of entrance, 5m
Pit Garages: No
Catering: Clubhouse Restaurant
Noise Limit: 105 dB
Animals: Not permitted on site
Full DVLA licence or ACU Race licence required by MSV

In a small valley in the rolling Lincolnshire Wolds, one of the UK's oldest race circuits twists and turns its way through parkland and woodland for 2.2m. Starting life as a short chalk track for racing motorbikes in the 1930s, Cadwell Park is now firmly established as one of the most popular tracks for bikers in the country and more people attend the BSB round held here than any other on the calendar. For spectators who can get close to the action all the way round the circuit, the atmosphere is electric.

It's easy to see why the spectators love it - the many direction changes, swooping curves and flowing sections in conjunction with the elevation changes make for some fabulous racing. Nothing beats the excitement of riding Cadwell yourself though and although quite narrow, the challenge of what is sometimes called a 'mini Nurburgring' is addictive. The Gooseneck is a testing off camber corkscrew with a rapidly descending exit, contrasted by the sharp incline of 'The Mountain'. This awesome feature is arguably the most recognisable on any UK circuit, thanks to the ubiquitous pictures of bikes several feet in the air. No one is quite as exuberant over the Mountain as Josh Brookes and a No Limits trackday gives you the chance to at least try getting a wheelie photo in a similar style.

Although earmarked for potential improvement, the paddock area is somewhat limited, with no garages and no power supply. You'll need a generator if you want to run tyre warmers.

Availability (None of these prices include a discount yet as I will need to phone round when I get some time, probably Thursday / Friday).

Happy to come along for the crack  For an evening session I can make Donnington or Mallory park. Never done Oulton but would need to have a day off to get there.

I would like to give it a go for sure. Might give me some extra confidence. Depends when and whether I get this new job I am applying for as to whether I can make it so post a date up when you know and I shall see if I can or not.
