Re: new boy
am looking at a 2001 vtr on gumtree, its £1850 and 34,000 on the clock its in southampton red in colour, can anyone give me any feed back am looking earnestly for a bike could this be the one. cheers john.
Re: new boy
Ask the owner if it has had the CCT's either changed to manuals or had the stopper mod done on them.john cresser wrote:am looking at a 2001 vtr on gumtree, its £1850 and 34,000 on the clock its in southampton red in colour, can anyone give me any feed back am looking earnestly for a bike could this be the one. cheers john.
Also, check if it is the updated model. A lot of pre-2001 models are on 2001+ plates because they were stored away due to the decline in sales of the VTR (or something). If it's a new model, £1850 isn't a bad price. If it's an old model, check if it's also had it's R/R done and possibly knock a little bit off if you can.
I'm not an expert, don't take my word for it
And I'm sure someone will be along later to prove everything I've said wrong

Re: new boy
if it has standard exhaust i suggest a daffectomy to start of with and if you still want louder/lighter cans the options are endless well how deep are you pockets .

Re: new boy
he means a "baffleectomy" ie drilling and pulling the baffles out to make that lovely V twin sound out. for £200 you can get lovely cans on e bay from Powertechperformance, i have used then 6 times and there ace. Get the CCT,s done as soon as possible though ok.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!
Re: new boy
baffleectomy is a good place to start. Don't go rushing out and buying cans. Do your research, listen to as many in the flesh as videos can be misleading. Save a couple of hundred quid and keep an eye on ebay as you can get some very nice cans for that price.
