I thought slicks were bald :confused :confused
Well I suppose I meant if you turn up with tyres worn beyond limit or with thread showing, they won't let you on track

Hi guys ,glsr I have stubbied carbon viper race cans with bugger all wadding I'm gonna have to get mine tested they have db killer tubes in ,but viper sell baffles that slide in and are held in with one bolt ,speedsyle UK Leeds sell them, basically they restrict the end of the can, reducing the aperture work well I believe ,may have to get these myself, end of august is a bit close to the Wales run and that takes priority I'm afraid.cheerz ady.

Dates, I may be out of this as the only date I can do is the 26th July at Mallory. Looked at my holiday chart and I have staff off on most other days that I could go myself. If the general wishes of other folks is the 26th of July count me in.

I race a Minitwin, but fancied an extra class now and then. I Built up a vtr over the winter to enter now and then. I raced it at oulton (without a steering damper) - would not advise! I Was not quick.Only other meeting I did this year was with it was NG and entered it in 1300 pre injection got a 2nd. Tyres went off next day in rain (v poor visibility)

If you are new to trackdays the best circuits are silverstone, donnington and snetterton and if I remember rockingham. They are wide, and also there are enormous amounts of run off. If you decide you cannot make it around a bend in most cases you can go off onto something other than gravel.

Cadwell has poor run off and is tiring, you will not be able to push a bike like you can at some other circuits. No garages. Oulton is a bit less so, with garages. Brands has good facilities and the Indy circuit has few bends so you can learn it quicker.
Mallory is good but you are stuck inside the circuit and the facilities are not great. Lydden is twisty and there is little there.
Overall on a long, slow steering torquey vtr the circuit it will suit best will be snetterton, silverstone or donnington. Of course where you live decides a lot!

Oh yes - noise. You will be tested. One day your bike will be 99 the next place/time 101...... Most places put a limit on 102db occasionally 105. If you have baffles in and pass they will put a 'B' on your sticker. If you get pulled up with no baffles in you will be sent home if you are obviously noisy.
Try to get bike tested first.
Buy some 'db killers' on ebay if you are worried.
If still a problem ie loud. decide if you are really naughty; buy some and bodge up some exhaust wadding wrapped in chicken wire like a tube. Put down exhaust, after lock wiring it to your baffles. Pass test. Take baffle off. Cut lock wire. Take stuffing tube out. Reapply baffle. Bike looks the same.

I have a full moriwaki titanium system on my vtr. With db killers in it it is 99, without 102. They measure from behind you. Induction is not an issue.
