ok lads/ladies/others. iv been on here since getting my vtr.have to say its a good site with plenty of info, but I think il bore the tits of you with a wee history trip as to how I ended up here..

plenty of road bikes since 1980 but decided I wanted to go racing so..

for those oldies on the site :D ..starting from waaay back sometime in the early 80s heres a we peep what iv been at..

first ever race bike. a Yamaha 200...

next along came a spondon 200 Yamaha.

then I got greedy for speed and swapped out the Yamaha engine and put a hybred Yamasaki 200. revved to near 13,000 rpm..

next along came a bike made by queens uni as the development donkey for when queens in Belfast was working with Yamaha. a reverse cylinder 200. before Yamaha put theres into production..

then the chance of a alloy frameded tz350 8O . if you haven't rode one.and you ever get the chance.TAKE it for a ride...most ill tempered bike I can rem lol

that's me upto the 90s..

then I had the stupid idea of going supermoto racing.for near 13 years :clap: that's when the crashing started..a lot..

I've got a Tzr 250 reverse cylinder it's a 1989

id love one..il swap you a kidney for it.. that wee 200 I had was the grand daddy of the bikes that Yamaha produced in the end... wish id never sold the dam thing :oops:

I've not ridden mine yet I've been rebuilding it for the past year and a half it's running just need a few bits to finish it I will post some pics if I can

Nice hirtory lessons :thumbup: Get the supermoto photos scanned as well, always good to see some racing

buy the best oil you can and use oem Yamaha pistons..everytime....

Yamaha pistons are very rare now I have some in at the moment that came from Japan but will be replacing them with wosner Teflon coated race pistons eventually but I know what u mean about the oil it's not worth using cheap stuff cause engine will go bang lol

is correct. they had a habbit of locking the pistons on the front face when they wernt warmed up before revving them.

ok well a few of the supermoto ones. spent some happy years in the irish/scotishand british championships over the years

lord knows what year but its a long time ago. ccm 600. like riding slow setting cement
